In the biology Lab, the cellular and molecular evaluations are conducted in order to define the cell/biomaterial interactions for regenerative medicine and nanomedicine applications. The lab is fully equipped to perform 2D and 3D cell culture systems and for the evaluation of the biomaterials and nanosystems activity on cell behaviour. The lab is equipped with the high-tech instruments: i) for the analysis of the biomolecules (fluorometer, luminometer and spectrophotometer); ii) for the complex study of cell, extracellular matrix and tissue morphology thanks to an advanced fluorescent microscopy system; iii) for the analysis of nucleic acids (RT-PCR) and proteins (Western Blot) to study the fine cellular and molecular mechanisms induced by bio/nanostructured materials.
