The laboratory scale ultrasonic sonicator is ideal in the biotechnological, medical, chemical, pharmaceutical sector and in all those cases where there is a need to destroy cells, emulsify hardly mixable liquids, deagglomerate nanoparticles in material research, accelerate chemical reactions and produce dispersions and carry out sonochemical studies. In the field of nanotechnology, it is widely used in the preparation of nanosuspensions through a homogeneous dispersion of nanopowders or nanoparticles in liquid media (water, solvents, (eco)-biological media), in particular, the sonicator guarantees compliance with protocols that are part of standard operating procedures (SOP).

Principle of operation

The untrasonic sonicator is composed of a generator that converts the energy from electrical to ultrasound at 20 KHz, a transducer that transforms this energy into longitudinal mechanical vibration of equal frequency and a probe that increases the amplitude of vibrations to be transmitted to the products to be treated.

Main characteristics

The sonifier guarantees optimal amplitude regardless of the conditions of the sample and constant sonic radiation allows for greater efficiency. The parameters are easily adjustable via the controls on a touch keyboard, including an integrated timer for checking the process in progress. The titanium alloy cylindrical probe guarantees easy cleaning, avoiding contamination and long life, avoiding wear.
