The patent protects a biomorphic transformation process whereby a natural structure is chemically transformed into a silicon carbide scaffold. The plant involves the construction of a core-shell structure in which the core is a fibrous construct based on mineralized collagen with hydroxyapatite made by means of a biomineralization process, and the shell is given by the silicon carbide structure.
The patent is granted in EU and USA.
